Don’t be afraid to specify when seeking the best match for you. Do you need someone who will be more assertive, or would you work better with a gentle approach? Are you ready to talk about the trauma or do you need some coping skills first to prepare you for processing?

Remember that when it comes to treating your trauma, you are the expert and authority on your experience and needs. And, finding a therapist who recognizes that will go a long way in your healing.
