About My Work
I provide LGBTQIA+ affirming, client-centered therapy for adults, teens, and couples navigating anxiety, trauma, reproductive health concerns, intimacy challenges, and major life transitions. I am especially passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals, women, and couples through deeply personal experiences that deserve care, respect, and understanding.
Clients often come to me for anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and intimacy concerns, and reproductive health–related challenges. My areas of focus include fertility and reproductive mental health (including postpartum depression, infant loss, miscarriage, and traumatic birth), perimenopause and menopause, gender-affirming care, and healing from trauma and PTSD. I also regularly support clients working through anger management, relationship stress, and identity-related concerns.
I would describe my therapy style as validating, direct, and honest. If you need to be challenged in a supportive way, I’m your gal. I believe that every person already has what they need inside themselves to create change — therapy is about helping you access that insight, strength, and clarity. My approach is collaborative and flexible, always adapted to meet your specific needs and goals.
I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including person-centered therapy, mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, empowerment-based work, and interactive feedback. Therapy with me is active and engaging, focused on insight, growth, and real-life application.
In our first few sessions, we’ll focus on getting to know you, understanding what you want to feel different or better in your life, and creating a clear plan for how we’ll work toward those goals together. I believe the therapeutic relationship matters deeply — it’s much easier to do meaningful work when you feel a genuine connection with your therapist.
Clients often share that they appreciate my blunt, upfront style and the energy I bring into sessions. I aim to create a space that feels safe, honest, and empowering, where you can show up as your full self without judgment.
Outside of therapy, I love spending time with my husband of 24 years, our three children, three herding dogs, and one cat. I enjoy knitting, reading, going to concerts, watching football and hockey, traveling, and recharging in nature. I also bring lived experience into my work — including long-term partnership, parenting, traumatic birth, postpartum depression, and navigating perimenopause — which allows me to approach therapy with both professional expertise and real-world understanding.
